A numeral is a symbol used to represent the value of a number . It is important to remember that a numeral is not the number itself, only an agreed upon symbol chosen to represent it. It is very probable, given that an alien civilization exists, that they understand the number 3. This number is the same for both humans and aliens, no matter how many legs they have. However, the numeral used to represent it would be different.
